My Own English World

The day had finally arrived and that means I am going to be one year older already. My thought on Chinese New Year is the day whereby children and those who are not married can receive red packets from their parents and relatives. Chinese New Year is often called the Lunar New Year, especially by people in mainland China and Taiwan. The festival traditionally begins on the first day of the first month in the Chinese calendar and ends on the 15th; this day is called Lantern Festival. Chinese New Year's Eve is known as 'chuxi'. It literally means "Year-pass Eve".

On the first day of my lunar new year ,my family and i went to both sides of my grandma house. I ate quite a lot on that day.We had two kinds of eating methods ; steamboat and barbequed.After that,we rest for awhile and started gambling.I slept quite late that day.I didn't really go count how much i received at the end of the day.The interesting event that happened today was that i ate for nearly 2 hours non-stop.

On the following day,all of us headed over to my grandma house again.This time round we had lunch first before heading over to my the other relative house.By the time we reached there,only a few of them were there.As the time flew passed, more and more people started to come.We all started gambling again after dinner.The interesting event for today is that most of us were like so high and kept on laughing while playing black jack.This had caused one of my relatives to fell off the sofa because she laughed until she lost balance.

On the last day,we all headed down to bedok after having lunch at my house.We all headed over to two houses.We were gambling once again but this time only bet a few dollars only.I actually did managed to win.The special event that occurred today was that my cousin happened to come back from army and we all were like over there teasing him.My parents was like saying how much a boy could have change himself after going for NS.

After these few days of visiting of relatives' houses with my family memebers, i realised that kinship is very important.To me, kinship is like nothing in this world is able to compare with because it is irreplacable.When we had any problems,it is always our family members who are the first to step out and give us a helping hand.
